While Paramount Global and Skydance struggle to secure the FCC’s blessing for an $8 billion merger proposed a full year ago, cable companies Charter Communications and Cox Communications last week presented a “public interest statement” to the Trump-servile regulatory agency, outlining a $34.5 billion tie-up that seems, by appearance anyway, built to sail through approvals nice and easy.
