‘Churn season’ kicks off with the start of NFL and college football

As NFL and college football training camps enter their culminating phases, streaming companies are getting ready to kick off a new campaign, too — churn season. Indeed, the six months between September and February yield the biggest signup events of the year for major SVODs including Peacock and Paramount+, who then watch just as many customers abruptly cancel service starting in around March.
